A Sledding Wonderland

We decided since we had quite a bit of snow that Allie
needed to experience sledding for the first time. We went to Gigi
and Pops house to sled down the hill in their back yard. All the
neighborhood kids already had the hill packed down perfectly for sledding.
Allie really liked stepping in the snow and loved that she could
make a ball out of it. When she went down the hill she would yell
"wweeeee!" and then she would say "more slide Mommy". We would
go down the hill, walk back up, and repeat! Fun was had by all!!!

Bundled up and ready to start sledding!
Allie was watching her footprints she
was making in the snow.
"It's kinda cold out here"

Addison was telling Allie "Hey, touch this".

Up the hill we go....

... again.

Me and My Baby

Wednesday, January 21, 2009

So, it is Wednesday night and tomorrow Shane and I are
going to Las Vegas with Kirk and Tara. Mimi is here to
watch Allie while we are gone. Papa will be here on Friday
to give Mimi a hand. I am sure that he will keep Allie
entertained. She sure loves her Papa!!!!
Mimi got to see Allie at gymnastics for the second
time tonight. Allie did really well and kept making sure
that Mimi was watching.

Watching, you guessed it Bee Movie, before gymnastics.

Oh my, the humans have stole all the honey from the bees!!!!

Saturday Kirk, Tara, and Izzie came over for dinner. Shane
made lasagna, which was wonderful. The girls had a
blast playing together. It had been a while since they
had played. They "baked" cookies and pizza and of course
Tara and I were lucky enough to get a sample.
Yummy, wooden food!

MRI Results

So, Dr. Wilson's office called to let me know that
Allie's MRI was good, meaning everything is just
fine. Everything looked normal. Thank goodness.
As much running and hopping as that girl does she
really couldn't have anything wrong. We were so
relieved and happy to hear that all was fine. I hope
we NEVER have to do anything like that again!

"All done"

So, everything went just fine today. Allie did such a good
job and was a big girl. The worst part was having to start
an IV. She cried the whole time they were trying to start it
and she kept repeating "all done". They gave her a stamp
kit afterwards for being so good. The Life Specialists brought
her a teddy bear and a book and they even brought in her favorite
movie "Bee Movie" so she could watch it while we were waiting.
After the MRI was done and Allie was waking up, she raised her
head and said "Mommy, all done" and then she laid her head
back down. We went back upstairs and she started drinking juice
and eating "weewee's" meaning cheerios. We were able to leave
about 30 minutes after she woke up. It is amazing how quickly the
anesthesia wears off. We are so proud of Allie for being such a big girl!
As you can tell by the pictures she was completely back to normal
by this afternoon.

Allie has seen Daddy playing the Wii so much that
she is giving it a try. She was holding the buttons
and running towards the t.v. like she was bowling!

in Allie's bed last night.

This morning we are getting ready to take Allie to Cox South
to do an MRI. She has a sacral dimple that Dr. Wilson wants
to take a look at. Allie had an ultrasound right after she was
born and everything was normal. The MRI is just to verify
that everything still looks good. I am not worried about the
MRI and the results, just the sedation required to do it. I am sure
she will do great and be the big girl that she is. I will update
a little later this afternoon to let everyone know how it went.

New Versus Two

I was going through Allie's baby book and
realized just how much has changed in
2 short years. I thought that it would be neat
to do a comparison of Allie as a newborn and a
wild 2 year old. So, here are the stats and a few pics!
Newborn
6 pounds 6 ounces
20 inches

2 Years
26 pounds 11 ounces
32 1/2 inches

Warming up for gymnastics

Every Wed. night we take Allie to gymnastics. She absolutely
loves it. It is amazing what a 2 year old is capable of. She
can walk on balance beams, swing from the bars, do
foreward rolls(somersaults) all by herself, jump down a
long trampoline, and tons of other things. It is so fun
to watch her. She makes us very proud.

Jumping on the bed a little to warmup for
gymnastics class.

Taking a break on the humidifier.

Happy New Year!

We had a pretty calm New Years Eve. Our friends
Brooke, Nathan, and Owen came over for the night.
Shane made a great meal for us. We had steak and
crab legs. It was really good even if we ate at 11:30 (p.m. that is).
Their first New Years kiss!

A new game. Climb on the turtle, up and over the chair,
slide down the seat, and repeat!

Owen aka Omen is patting Allie to sleep with
her Aquadoodle blanket.

Christmas with Mimi and Papa

Christmas afternoon we traveled to Butler to
see Mimi and Papa and the rest of the clan. We stayed
2 nights and we celebrated Allie's birthday in
Butler. We got to see Uncle Andrew and his new wife
Sarah, Aunt Bekah, Uncle Jacob, and Uncle Mason and his
family. It was nice to have everyone together. On Friday
we went to Mason's house to have Christmas with
Papa Steve. We had a great time and a wonderful
Christmas. It is hard to believe that it is all over.

Christmas Morning at GiGi and Pops House

As the tradition goes we celebrate Christmas Eve with the
Erickson side. This year we went to Shane's cousin's house. We
had the usual Christmas meal consisting of meatballs, ribs, lefse(Norweigan
bread), and lots of other good stuff. After dinner we went back to GiGi and Pops
house. The girls went to sleep and Shane and Travis worked hard to
put together the tricycles. I am pretty sure Travis did the bulk of the
assembly. Thanks Uncle Travis. Allie must have been a pretty good girl
because she got lots of good gifts. Allie and Addie did so much unwrapping
they had to take a break and rest on the stairs before they were even done!
GiGi helping Allie unwrap her new doll playset. She absolutely
loves it. She plays with it all the time, especially the stroller.
